Nominations for the 2026 AFP DC Chapter Board of Directors Now Open

At AFP DC, the Board of Directors has the privilege to lead a dynamic and engaged community of fundraising professionals across the DC Metro area. We invite you to help us shape the future of the chapter by identifying our next volunteer leaders and/or by even considering a leadership role yourself. 

The AFP DC Board of Directors exists to serve you, the chapter's members, by providing continuing education, professional development, networking opportunities and more. The Board actively leads the chapter through membership, education, IDEA, resource development, finance, and governance. Therefore, it is essential that candidates for the AFP DC Board of Directors:

  • Have the enthusiasm and vision to help us continue to meet the needs and interests of our members
  • Have active AFP membership
  • Have served previously in some volunteer role in our chapter, another AFP chapter or AFP Global
  • Have diverse lived- or professional-experiences that will add value to the board and to our chapter
  • are able to commit time to attend all required board meetings and serve on and/or lead a committee or special initiative, such as National Philanthropy Day or the Bridge to Integrated Fundraising and Marketing Conference;
