Islamic Philanthropy: Fundraising to the Moon and Back (Virtual)

Please join us on April 27th for the Islamic Philanthropy: Fundraising to the Moon and Back education event.

The Muslim American Zakat Giving 2022 report reported the average Muslim American household donated $2,070 of Zakat funds to charity. Many UN and international NGOs are jumping on this wagon because they know that philanthropy is a central tenet of Islam, and many Muslims regard charity as a form of worship. It is one of the five pillars of faith. What is perhaps less well understood outside Muslim communities is the way in which philanthropy binds Muslims to each other.

Join us as we explore questions such as: what are those avenues of giving? What are some of the rules and conditions for Zakat? Why is Ramadan fundraising the lifeline for many charities in American and international NGOs?

Meeting Time:
Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM

Registration Fees:
 Members - $25.00
 Nonmembers - $45.00
