AFP DC Virtual Coffee & Learn: AI and Keeping Your Brain in the Driver's Seat

Date: July 17, 2026

Time: 10:00 AM ET

Location: Virtual

Grab your morning coffee and join the conversation! AFP DC's Lunch (or Coffee in this case!) & Learn series brings the fundraising community together for a mix of focused presentation, open discussion, and networking, all centered around topics chosen by YOU.

This summer, we're exploring AI and techniques for keeping your brain in the driver's seat. How do we embrace AI's augmentative powers without becoming overly reliant, outsourcing judgment, or letting our creative muscles atrophy?

This micro-learning session will introduce practical techniques for using AI as a thought partner and embracing "productive friction"—an essential ingredient in learning and developing the taste that makes human work irreplaceable. The second half of the session is dedicated to open discussion and connecting with fellow fundraising professionals.

Whether you're curious about AI, actively experimenting with new tools, or simply looking to connect with colleagues navigating similar challenges, this Coffee & Learn offers a welcoming space to exchange ideas, learn from one another, and build community.
