OWN - deadline extended to October 9
Honor Your Own nominations are due October 9th
from nonprofits that want to recognize and further cultivate
their best foundations, corporations, philanthropists,
fundraisers and fundraising volunteers at National Capital
Philanthropy Day.
The event will showcase and reward leading philanthropists,
businesses, foundations, fundraising volunteers, and
professional fundraisers who have improved and strengthened
nonprofit organizations in the area and, therefore,
have made an impact on our greater community and the
lives of those in it.
You can "Honor Your Own” in any of the five
categories by submitting a nomination form and inviting
them to attend as your guest. Information

Over the past two decades, National Philanthropy
Day has become a celebrated occasion in cities across
the country, drawing hundreds and even thousands, to
celebrate the commitment of those who make a difference
in their communities. While many individual organizations
honor their own in the greater Washington DC area, this
event offers community wide visibility and an opportunity
to publicly recognize business, foundation, volunteer
and community leaders who are committed to philanthropy.
Sponsorships range from $1500 to $10,000
and a list of specific recognition is listed on page
three of the Sponsorship
Proposal.

In order to avoid long lines at the registration
counter on the day of the event, please provide guest
names by October 13, 2006. Name badges will be mailed
the week of October 23, 2006.
Badge changes and registrations received
after October 13 will be available for pick up at the
registration counter on the day of the event.
If you'd like to purchase individual
seats or tables of 10, you can do so two ways:
