NCPD REGISTRATION DEADLINE- Extended through October 18
The registration for National Capital Philanthropy Day has been extended to midnight on October 18. You can register or edit your record online.

Please join us at the Marriott Wardman Hotel on November 1 during the sixth annual National Capital Philanthropy Day. More than 600 people will gather for a community-wide celebration of giving to honor those who embody the highest philanthropic spirit.

  • Please be sure to share with us the names of your guests so that we can direct them to your table and prepare nametags for them in advance. All names must be submitted by midnight on Thursday, October 18.
  • You can enter your guests' names online.
  • If you or your guest has a special meal requirement, please include that in your registration.

ADVANCED EXECUTIVES DEADLINE - October 19
An Inconvenient Truth?
featuring noted author and speaker Arthur C. Brooks, Ph.D.  He is author of the groundbreaking and thought provoking book Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth about Compassionate Conservatism.   Dr. Brooks will share his conclusions that religious conservatives are much more philanthropic than secular liberals, irrespective of income level.  The format of this session will allow for audience commentary and interactive Q&A with Dr. Brooks. Please note: Advanced Executive Programs are for AFP members in the fundraising field for ten or more years.

CHAMBERLAIN SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE - October 19
The AFP Foundation and AFP/DC will award scholarships for the purpose of defraying expenses associated with attendance at AFP's International Conference in San Diego, CA March 30-April 2, 2008.  The AFP Foundation will fund one $500 Chamberlain Scholarship for the chapter.  Additional scholarships are being made possible through a designated endowment fund established by AFP/DC members at the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy.
All scholarship recipients will receive a $350 travel grant to help defray the costs of getting to San Diego to attend the International Conference. This support is being made possible by AFP/DC and the designated endowment fund.
