SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE FOR SAN DIEGO AFP INTERNATIONAL
CONFERENCE – October 19
2008 AFP Foundation Chamberlain Scholarship
Program
To help individuals serving nonprofit organizations
develop their knowledge and skill in fundraising, the
AFP Foundation for Philanthropy sponsors the Chamberlain
Scholarship Program. The Chamberlain Scholarship honors
the memory of Ralph E. Chamberlain, CFRE.
The AFP Foundation and AFP/DC will award scholarships
for the purpose of defraying expenses associated with
attendance at AFP's International Conference in San
Diego, CA March 30-April 2, 2008. The AFP Foundation
will fund one $500 Chamberlain Scholarship
for the chapter. Additional scholarships are being
made possible through a designated endowment fund established
by AFP/DC members at the AFP Foundation for Philanthropy.
All scholarship recipients will receive a $350
travel grant to help defray the costs of getting
to San Diego to attend the International Conference.
This support is being made possible by AFP/DC and the
designated endowment fund.
To apply, you must be an AFP/DC member,
and you must have never attended an AFP (or NSFRE) International
Conference on Fundraising as a registered participant.
You will be asked to share experience and insights
with AFP and with AFP/DC members. Preference will
be given to those who have not previously received a
scholarship from AFP/DC.

and speaker Arthur C. Brooks, Ph.D. He is author
of the groundbreaking and thought provoking book Who
Really Cares: The Surprising Truth about Compassionate
Conservatism. Dr. Brooks will share
his conclusions that religious conservatives are much
more philanthropic than secular liberals, irrespective
of income level. The format of this session will
allow for audience commentary and interactive Q&A
with Dr. Brooks. Please note:

BRIDGE CONFERENCE 2008
Planning for the third annual Bridge
to Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Conference
which will take place July 23-25 at the Hilton Washington
Hotel, has begun! Be sure to mark your calendar
and put the conference in your budget for 2008.
Registration fees will be the same as in 2007.
