National Capital Philanthropy Day is dedicated to saluting the power of philanthropy in the Washington, DC area. It is a celebration of the commitment of individuals, companies, and foundations who reflect the highest spirit of philanthropic generosity, dedication, and leadership. These philanthropists are improving and strengthening the efforts of nonprofits throughout the region, and are inspiring others to broaden the impact of community giving.

During the awards luncheon, we honor six of the Washington area's most outstanding philanthropists and fundraisers. Awardees were nominated by individuals, companies and organizations throughout the Washington, D.C. area. They were selected based on their achievements in contributing toward improving the quality of life in the region. They exemplify the highest spirit of philanthropic generosity and leadership.
