What is National Capital Philanthropy Day?
National Capital Philanthropy Day is a community-wide celebration of giving. Dedicated to saluting the
power of philanthropy in the Washington, DC area, this event celebrates the commitment of individuals,
companies, and foundations who reflect the highest spirit of philanthropic generosity, dedication, and
leadership. These philanthropists are improving and strengthening the efforts of nonprofits throughout
the region, and are inspiring others to broaden the impact of community giving.
When and where will the Sixth Annual National Capital Philanthropy Day be held?
The celebration will take place on Thursday, November 1, 2007, from 11 am – 2 pm at the Marriott Wardman
Park Hotel in Washington, DC. Organizations may purchase half-tables, full tables, or individual tickets.
Why is National Capital Philanthropy Day so important?

While many individual organizations honor their own supporters in the greater Washington, DC area,
